Autumn Statement: Ed Balls attacks 'economic failure'

The shadow chancellor Ed Balls has attacked what he called the "true scale of this government's economic failure".

His comments came after the chancellor delivered his Autumn Statement to MPs.

George Osborne vowed to continue efforts to cut the deficit, saying Britain was "on the right track - and turning back now would be a disaster".

However, Mr Balls told the Commons that people already struggling to make ends meet were paying the price, while millionaires got a tax cut.
