Autumn Statement: Teachers' pay rises pegged to performance
Teachers will no longer receive increases based on length of service, the chancellor announced in his Autumn Statement.
Mr Osborne said the decision was based on the recommendation of The School Teachers' Review Body.
The move would give greater freedom to individual schools to set pay in line with performance.
