Fraud expenses MP given two-year supervision order

Former MP Margaret Moran has been sentenced to a two-year supervision and treatment order after falsely claiming more than £53,000 in expenses.

The former Luton South Labour MP was found to have committed 15 counts of false accounting and six of using a false instrument.

A judge had ruled Ms Moran was unfit to stand trial for mental health reasons and could therefore not receive a criminal conviction.
