Nick Clegg 'shocked' at Chris Huhne guilty plea
Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg has said he is ''shocked and saddened'' after the former cabinet minister Chris Huhne admitted perverting the course of justice over claims his ex-wife took speeding points for him a decade ago.
The 58-year-old changed his plea on the first day of his trial at Southwark Crown Court. He said he would stand down as MP for Eastleigh, Hampshire.
"I believe that Chris Huhne has taken the right decision in resigning as an MP," said Mr Clegg.
