Tories will 'work hard' to win back voters, says Theresa May
The Conservative Party must "work hard" to claw back voters ahead of the next general election, the home secretary has said.
The Tories lost control of 10 councils in Thursday's local elections, as the UK Independence Party made gains in grass root Conservative areas.
Theresa May rejected claims her party was out of touch with the electorate.
She said: "We will be working hard... to make sure we're focusing on the issues that matter to people."
