Boris Johnson 'not there' with Lord Lawson on EU exit

The Mayor of London Boris Johnson says he is "not there" when asked if he agreed with Lord Lawson on EU withdrawal.

He said the PM was right to say to our EU partners: "Chums, this isn't working for either of us, the eurozone is bringing misery... we need a renegotiation."

But Mr Johnson told the Today programme that "we need to be prepared to pull out" and that the UK cannot enter that renegotiation "without being prepared to walk away".

He said withdrawal would not be "cataclysmic" and would not cost millions of jobs.

First broadcast on BBC Radio 4's Today programme on Friday 10 May 2013.
