Alexander: Hague should make statement over GCHQ spy claims
The Shadow Foreign Secretary, Douglas Alexander, has called on the government to clarify the extent to which ministers have been involved in the allegations surrounding the intelligence centre GCHQ.
The agency has been accused of covertly getting information about the internet activity of British citizens by accessing surveillance material gathered by America's National Security Agency.
Mr Alexander said that the Foreign Secretary William Hague should make a statement to the House of Commons.
