Cable voices housing market fears

Business Secretary Vince Cable has spoken of his fears about the impact of government policies on the housing market.

Speaking to Jeremy Vine on the Andrew Marr Show, he praised the existing Help to Buy scheme but said "I am worried of the danger of getting into another housing bubble."

When he was asked about the proposed policy of providing a guarantee for mortgages, the Business Secretary said it "could be a problem, it could inflate the market, but if it's properly designed it could be a useful addition."

He went on to call for more measures to increase housing supply in the UK.
