Energy prices: Faster provider switching promised

Households should be able to switch energy supplier within 24 hours, Energy Secretary Ed Davey has proposed.

Announcing a review of energy competition and prices, he told the Commons it was "completely ludicrous" that it can take up to five weeks to change providers.

But Labour have said the review, not due to report back until next spring, does nothing to help consumers with soaring winter fuel bills.
