Jowell: Cameron speech 'will appeal for British pride'

David Cameron is to urge Scotland to vote against independence in September's referendum, during a speech in London.

Former Olympics minister Dame Tessa Jowell told Radio 4's Today programme the speech will both "remind" people of the practical and economic consequences of an independent Scotland and "appeal" to our "sense of Britishness".

She defended the prime minister's decision to hold the speech in the east London's Olympic Park rather than in Scotland.
