Somerset Levels flooding: Dr Hannah Cloke on dredging

Extra dredging in the Somerset Levels would not have prevented the flooding in recent weeks, said Dr Hannah Cloke.

The associate professor of hydrology at the University of Reading said "clever solutions" were needed, which may include have to "retreat" from the Levels.

She said it would be "very difficult to protect them forever" when asked if the area may have to be returned to marshland.
