Midcounties boss: Co-op reform 'must be measured'

The largest independent Co-op society, Midcounties, will "vote against" Lord Myners' plans to overhaul the Co-op Group unless they are able to negotiate reform.

Patrick Gray, president of Midcounties, told the Today programme that they will not be "pushed into a corner" over any proposed changes, which must be conducted in a "measured way".

Midcounties has revenues of £1.2bn and more than 10,000 employees.

First broadcast on BBC Radio 4's Today programme on Wednesday 9 April.
