David Cameron: Nigeria girls abduction 'act of pure evil'
David Cameron has said his reaction to Boko Haram's abduction of more than 200 Nigerian schoolgirls is like that of any other parent around the world: "This is an act of pure evil. It's united people across the planet to stand with Nigeria to help find these children and return them to their parents."
The prime minister said British aid was already helping to educate 600,000 Nigerian girls and said he would offer further assistance when he spoke to the Nigerian president on Wednesday afternoon.
"This is not just a Nigerian issue, it is a global issue," he told MPs, "There are extreme Islamists around our world who are against education, against progress, against equality and we must fight them and take them on wherever they are."
