Vote 2014: Tory back-bencher suggests pact with UKIP
A Conservative MP is suggesting an electoral pact with UKIP ahead of the 2015 general election, to prevent a spit in the "small c Conservative vote".
Jacob Rees-Mogg told the BBC "winning back our friends in UKIP" was the Conservative's first priority, but that the two parties had enough similarities to merit a "coupon", or agreement to support each other's candidates in the future.
"With the promise of the [EU] referendum, the Conservative party and UKIP are moving in exactly the same direction", he said.
