MPs to press civil service boss over abuse files

The Home Office's top civil servant is set to be quizzed by MPs about the handling of files relating to historical allegations of child sex abuse involving politicians.

Mark Sedwill is to face questions from the Commons Home Affairs Select Committee about 114 missing files that could shed light on alleged abuse in the 1980s.

The government has already announced two reviews into claims of abuse.
