Mark Simmonds: 'I have to put family life first'

Foreign Office minister Mark Simmonds has told the BBC that his resignation from the government is for family reasons, not because of a difference of opinion over policy.

Mr Simmonds - who will also step down as MP for Boston and Skegness at the general election - is the second minister to depart from the government in less than a week, but he said the decision had been made some time ago.
