Struggle for Iraq: Islamic State 'must be defeated' says Osborne

Chancellor George Osborne has said Islamic State (IS) must be defeated, as it is ''a direct threat to the security of people living in Britain''.

However he told the BBC's Andrew Marr that the UK was not yet at the stage of carrying out air strikes,

''We need to work out what we can do as a country, to best help defeat this threat to our security and a threat to the security of the world,'' he said.
