Scotland votes No: Many nations 'welcome' verdict

The news that Scotland has voted to stay in the United Kingdom will be welcomed by many other governments.

Though there is affection across the globe for Scotland's distinct identity, some governments feared Scottish independence might encourage other separatist movements.

There is still concern that constitutional change in the UK may mean that the government in London will be too distracted to pull its weight on foreign affairs.
