Alp Mehmet on UK migration and European treaty
The level of immigration to the UK was 'far too much for what we can manage", the pressure group Migration Watch UK has said.
Vice chair Alp Mehmet said there was a net figure of 130,000 people with families annually coming to the UK, which has doubled in two years.
He told Jo Coburn the numbers were rising especially for people from Romania and Poland heading to Britain.
Mr Mehmet said it was a nonsense for EU leaders to say a 1957 treaty could not be changed, as it could never have been envisaged the original six nations would later expand to take in Spain, Portugal, Finland, Greece and bits of Yugoslavia and the Soviet Union.
