Nigel Farage: 'Labour hate concept of Englishness'
UKIP leader Nigel Farage has said the Labour party "hate the concept of Englishness" following the resignation of the shadow attorney general Emily Thornberry over a controversial tweet.
Ms Thornberry apologised for the photograph of a terraced house with three England flags and a white van parked outside, sent during the Rochester and Strood by-election.
Mr Farage told BBC Breakfast: "People like Emily Thornberry would rather we had that blue flag with 12 stars on it that comes to us from Brussels."
