National editor Richard Walker on new Scottish paper

The UK's newest newspaper was launched in Scotland on Monday, initially on a five day trial, and it will take a pro-Scottish independence line.

Richard Walker, editor of The National, said the first day's 60,000 print run was a sell-out, and digital subscribers were joining up on Sunday at the rate of 20 a minute.

And he said the paper would not be toeing a pro-SNP line, and dismissed reports of its taking a "McPravda" approach to reporting.

Daily Politics presenter Jo Coburn asked former Sun editor Kelvin Mackenzie to offer a critique of its front page.
