Mitchell: 'I'm bitterly disappointed but now need to move on'
Andrew Mitchell says he is "bitterly disappointed" at losing his libel case. He said the last two years had been "miserable" but it was "time to bring the matter to a close and move on".
The former government chief whip had sued News Group Newspapers over a story that appeared in the Sun in September 2012 which claimed he called PC Toby Rowland a "pleb".
Mr Mitchell said he had used bad language but had not used that word. Mr Justice Mitting said he was satisfied that the MP probably did say the word "pleb"
