Nick Clegg: Election debates should go ahead

Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg has said that he believes televised debates ahead of the general election should go ahead, even though the prime minister has said he will only take part in one.

David Cameron has rejected a head-to-head debate with Labour leader Ed Miliband, but Mr Clegg said he would be prepared to defend the coalition government's record and accused the Conservatives of being arrogant.
