Liberal Democrats criticise proposed Tory spending cuts
A day after the Chancellor delivered the coalition's last budget before the election, the Liberal Democrats have sharply criticised the Conservatives' planned spending cuts.
In a statement to MPs, the Treasury Secretary, Danny Alexander, accused them of wanting to "make cuts for cuts' sake."
Labour said the Tory plans were a "pretty scary prospect" for voters, but Mr Osborne denied his proposals would be tougher than the austerity of recent years.
