Theresa May: Islamist extremism 'needs to be confronted'

Home Secretary Theresa May has said the UK will no longer tolerate the behaviour of Islamist extremists who "reject our values".

Mrs May said everyone in Britain had "responsibilities as well as rights", and had to respect other people's rights as well.

Speaking in London, Mrs May said Islamist extremists provided the "most serious and widespread form of extremism" that needed to be confronted.
