ThrowbackThursday: Party Leader Debates

The first party leader debates took place during the 2010 general election.

There were three debates between the leaders of the three main parties: Gordon Brown, then Prime Minister and leader of the Labour Party; David Cameron, Leader of the Conservative Party; and Nick Clegg, Leader of the Liberal Democrats.

They were the first head to head debates of their kind to be broadcast live on TV.
