Theresa May: 'Scaremongering does nobody any good'

Theresa May has addressed the Police Federation annual conference, and told them to stop "crying wolf" about the impact of financial cuts.

She said: ''This kind of scaremongering does nobody any good. It doesn't serve you, it doesn't serve the officers you represent and it doesn't service the public."

The home secretary added that crime had fallen and the country was safer than ever.
