Dawn Butler on David Cameron and tax credit claims

Labour's Dawn Butler said the government promised not to cut tax credits, and claimed that "David Cameron lied".

She was speaking to Jo Coburn, and a panel of MPs, about changes to tax credits, saying she could not make her claim in the House of Commons, but could on TV.

The MP said the rise in the minimum wage would not alleviate the cuts because the government's Living Wage was not high enough.

And she added: "Ed Miliband was not ambitious enough in the minimum wage, he should have started off at £10 per hour."

Conservative MP Liam Fox then responded to her claims on the Daily Politics.
