Government suffers 'hefty defeat' in Lords over tax credits

The government has suffered a major defeat over its controversial plans to cut tax credits.

The House of Lords has voted to delay the cuts, which were one of the government's key welfare reforms.

George Osborne now says he will look at new measures to help those who will be affected.
