David Cameron: I've examined my conscience on Syria

Prime Minister David Cameron said after examining his conscience he had come to the conclusion that air strikes in Syria were the right move.

He said he could not "stand here and say we're safe from all these threats" but that advice he had heard led him to believe taking action would reduce the dangers posed by so-called Islamic State.

He was answering questions from MPs after delivering his statement to the House of Commons advocating action against the jihadist group.
