PMQs: SNP questions David Cameron over post-study work visas
David Cameron faced calls from the SNP to reintroduce post-study work visas, during Wednesday's Prime Minister's Questions.
Angus Robertson, the party's Westminster leader, said the visas, which allow foreign students to stay on and look for graduate jobs, were supported by many organisations in Scotland, including the Scottish Conservative Party.
"Why does the PM think they are all wrong and he is right?" he asked.
Mr Cameron said "the clarity of our offer" to international students "is world beating" - but there were enough British people in need of low paid work.
"We don't need the world's brightest and best to come here to study and then to do menial labour jobs, which actually that's not what our immigration system is for."
