Should the UK take more refugees?

Speaking to Jo Coburn on the Daily Politics, Labour MP Rachel Reeves backed calls from charities for the UK to take in 3,000 unaccompanied child refugees who have made it to Europe.

The former shadow welfare secretary said more children were at risk of trafficking “the longer we prevaricate and delay”.

Conservative former Children’s Minister Tim Loughton said there was a “humanitarian case” in favour of the move, but warned it was “fraught with problems” with a record number of UK children already in care and a shortage of foster carers.
