‘All MPs will have to publish tax returns’ – Rees-Mogg

Conservative MP Jacob Rees-Mogg has told the Today programme he expects all MPs will have to publish their tax returns within the next few years.

It was a pity MPs had lost privacy, he told presenter Sarah Montague, but “to some extent it is politicians' fault because we lost the trust of the public".

It comes after David Cameron published data on his 2009-15 tax and earnings following revelations in the Panama Papers.
