George Monbiot on rewilding countryside and rural areas

Should the British countryside be allowed to grow wild, and perhaps see the return of beavers and wolves

Environmental campaigner George Monbiot thinks that instead of spending money on agricultural subsidies, the land should be allowed to return to what he says is its natural state.

He made a personal film about the 'rewilding' of rural areas, away from intensive farming and land management, for the Daily Politics soapbox series.
