Brexit: Corbyn to ask Labour MPs to back Article 50
Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn says he will ask his MPs to vote in favour of the Article 50 process, which gets talks with the European Union on Brexit under way.
He made the comments amid reports that some of his own shadow cabinet ministers were thinking of voting against the mechanism for getting formal negotiations with the EU started.
The vote would be expected to happen only if the government loses its appeal to the Supreme Court against a ruling that Parliament has to give the Brexit process the go-ahead. That judgement is due on Tuesday.
