Security is not Brexit bargaining chip, says German defence chief
Germany’s defence minister Ursula von der Leyen said she does not expect security cooperation to be bargaining chip in the upcoming Brexit negotiations.
This comes a day after the UK triggered Article 50, starting the formal process of withdrawing from the EU.
Mrs von der Leyen told BBC Newsnight that the talks would be conducted "openly and directly".
