Keir Starmer on pay rise for NHS and public sector workers
The Labour leader has said NHS staff and other public sector workers "need to be properly rewarded".
Sir Keir Starmer spoke after the Department of Health made a 1% pay increase recommendation to the independent panel that advises on NHS salaries in England.
He said that was “insulting” and they should get a pay rise, while a pay cut was "completely the wrong thing".
