Elections 2021: Boris Johnson on Conservative gains
Boris Johnson has said it was "early days" after Thursday’s elections but there has been a "very encouraging set of results so far".
The prime minister said Conservative gains were due to the government focussing on "people's priorities", on "bouncing back from the pandemic as far as we can" and "getting through it”.
