Rwanda asylum scheme is a gimmick, says Keir Starmer
Sir Keir Starmer has said there would be “no flights, no Rwanda scheme” if Labour wins power.
Speaking to BBC political editor Chris Mason, the Labour leader branded the government's plan to send asylum seekers to the east African nation a "gimmick".
He added that money earmarked for the plan should be spent instead on extra police to tackle smugglers bringing people across the Channel in small boats.
