Brexit: Don't take voters for granted, says Roger Scully

Politicians from all parties in Wales should beware taking voters for granted, a political expert has warned, after a majority in Wales and across the UK voted in favour of leaving the European Union.

The biggest support for Brexit came in areas such as the south Wales valleys, thought traditionally loyal to Labour, which campaigned for a Remain vote in Thursday's referendum.

But some prominent Leave campaigners such as Monmouth MP David Davies and Welsh Tory leader Andrew RT Davies from the Vale of Glamorgan saw their counties vote the other way.

Prof Roger Scully from Cardiff University's Wales Governance Centre, said the days when voters would simply follow the party line were over.
