Brexit: PM says plan needed before going down 'Article 50 tunnel'
David Cameron has said the next prime minister should be able to have informal discussions with EU partners and institutions prior to formally notifying them of the UK's intention to leave the EU.
Despite EU Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker's "no notification, no negotiation" comments on Tuesday, the PM told MPs there should be room for manoeuvre.
He said the UK should not go down the "tunnel of Article 50" - the official legal route for leaving - without first having a blueprint and doing some preparatory work.
