'Scotland lost confidence' in Transport Minister Stewart Stevenson

Labour leader in Scotland, Iain Gray, said Scotland had ''lost confidence'' in Transport Minister Stewart Stevenson after his handling of the snow chaos.

Mr Stevenson resigned after admitting he failed to get to grips with the travel problems caused by the recent wintry weather conditions.

In a letter to Scotland's First Minister Alex Salmond, he said he should have done more to ensure that stranded motorists were kept informed.
