Costly energy links 'disadvantage' Scottish renewables

Part of the renewable energy sector in Scotland has claimed it is being penalised for being so remote.

Scottish Renewables said they were being charged too much to connect to the electricity grid.

As a result, they said, Scotland was in danger of losing its place at the forefront of research into wave and tidal energy.
