Jim Swire reflects on Gaddafi death

For the 40 years that Colonel Gaddafi was in power he ruled with an iron fist and his influence was felt not only in Libya but around the world.

WPC Yvonne Fletcher was shot dead outside the Libyan Embassy in London 27 years ago. The one suspect who is still alive went on to become one of the leading figures in the Gaddafi regime.

And Libya was blamed for the bombing of Pan Am flight 103 over Lockerbie, which claimed 270 lives.

Dr Jim Swire's daughter died in the Lockerbie bombing and has long doubted Libyan guilt. He told the BBC of his reaction to the death of Colonel Gaddafi.
