Last ferry to sail from Stranraer

Stranraer has been Scotland's gateway to Ireland for more than 150 years but it will soon cease to be a ferry town.

A new port has been built nearer the mouth of Loch Ryan to cut costs and travel time.

Stena Line has said the new £200m investment underpins their commitment to the route and the people it employs.

Dumfries and Galloway Council have said they are examining plans to redevelop the industrial space in Stranraer port vacated by the Stena Line ferry terminal.
