Scientists have gained an insight into the secret world of Scotland's seabirds.

A research project used technology more commonly found in car sat-navs to shed light on species like the guillemot and razorbill.

A more detailed picture has emerged at a time when seabirds are battling for survival.

The research has revealed seabirds are travelling much further than had been thought in search of food.
