'No Holyrood snub' for Dalai Lama

The Scottish government has denied snubbing the Dalai Lama on his visit to Scotland.

No minister is due to meet the Tibetan spiritual leader on his visit.

It has been claimed that Chinese diplomats put pressure on the government and local councils not to welcome him.

The Dalai Lama, who fled his homeland in 1959, has campaigned for more autonomy for Tibet which China considers to be part of its territory.
