UK's first green bank officially opens

The UK's new Green Investment Bank has been officially launched by Business Secretary Vince Cable.

Dr Cable outlined the first investments in the Scottish capital on Wednesday morning. Set up to help develop the "green economy", the bank will have its headquarters in Edinburgh.

It will have £3bn of UK government money to invest to support renewable energy, the development of carbon capture and storage technology, energy efficiency measures and projects which use waste to generate energy.
