Energy company battles extreme snow on Isle of Arran

Thousands of homes are still without power and many roads remain impassable after severe weather affected much of the UK over the weekend.

The isle of Arran, off the west coast of Scotland, endured snowy blizzards leaving 1,500 residents without power.

Speaking to the BBC, Ross Easton from Scottish and Southern Energy said, "Typically on Arran we have two members of staff, right now we have got 150 people working around the clock to restore supplies."
