Thousands 'wrongly paying' for care in Scotland

The BBC has discovered that thousands of people may be wrongly paying for care in nursing homes, with many having to sell their own homes in order to do so.

If anyone has severe health problems requiring constant nursing care, the NHS is obliged to pay for that care.

Following a landmark judgement in England, the number of people there getting all their care bills paid by the NHS is rising.

But it is falling in Scotland with families being wrongly told that the law does not apply here.

BBC Scotland health correspondent Eleanor Bradford has this exclusive report.
